Detailed Itinerary

Day Date Activity
Day 1 30-12-2023 Drive from Dehradun to Haltari (6,800 ft) (Drive 210 Km/8-9 Hrs) Pickup Time - 6:00 AM
The drive is approximately 210 km from Dehradun and takes about 8 to 9 hours to reach Haltari. The twisting roads take you through the most scenic sights of the Garhwal Himalaya. On the way, we cross places like Mussoorie, Kempty Falls, Damta, Nainbaag, Naugaon, Purola, Jarmola, Kharsaadi, Mori and Naitwar.
Throughout the way, you’ll be treated to the magnificent views of the Garhwal Himalayas and refreshing sights of rivers such as Yamuna, Tons and Supin. The last few kilometres to Haltari is most exciting since the road passes through apple orchards and Govind National Park, which is famous for its avid collection of flora typical of this region.
Day 2 31-12-2023 Trek from Haltari to Jalota (9000 ft) (5 Hrs)
It is a closed site surrounded by tall pine and oak trees. The night sky, with its bright and shining stars, is simply irresistible and we bet you won’t be able to keep your eyes off it. Overnight stay in tents.
Post Breakfast- trek from Haltari and head towards Jalota camp. The attraction of this pathway is that it goes through the apple orchard and thick jungle of Pine along with the very old culture of Haltari village. Haltari is a small village with a cluster of homes. Here we get mesmerising views of  Rupin Valley. The trail goes inside a forest where we will be able to see a pretty clearing amidst pines and oaks. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 3 01-01-2024 Trek from Jalota to Pukhrola (11,250 ft) (4-5 Hrs) (11,250 ft) (Trek 3 Km/3 Hrs)
Post Breakfast - trek from Jalota. Within a km from Jalota, we will reach an alpine pasture, called “Siunn Ka Thatch”. Walking through a suburb of the forest we will witness “Mowru Ka Thatch”, a clearing covered by dense rhododendron trees.
Down the line you are going to witness Pukhrola Meadow an amphitheatre-like place with the breathtaking views of mountain ridges and ranges. Overnight stay at Pukhrola.
Day 4 02-01-2024 Trek from Pukhrola to Kedarkantha Summit (12,500 ft) and descend back to Pukhrola (7 Hrs)
Summit day- It is long, tiring, challenging but rewarding at the same time. The climb is steep but worthwhile.  As we move forward slowly, the dense forest trail starts to disappear and we enter meadows. The route to the summit goes through western ridge of the mountain. The 360-degree view of the majestic Himalayas from the Kedarkantha summit is commendable. Swargarohini, Kala Nag (Black Peak) and Bandarpoonch are some of the most distinguished peaks visible from here. Gangotri, Yamunotri, Har Ki Dun, and Rupin-Supin mountain ranges are other well-known ranges that can be seen from the summit. Chaainsheel is also visible.
There are temples on the summit dedicated to Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Ganesha. It tends to get quite windy at the top, so keep moving to keep your body warm. After experiencing the serene beauty of the summit, we will retrace our way to Pukhrola. Overnight sleep in the tents.
Day 5 03-01-2024 Trek from Pukhrola to Haltari (5 Hrs)
It is a gradual descent to Haltari. Evening explore the Haltari village. Overnight stay and dinner at homestay.
