Overview
Dayara Bugyal Trek 2027 — Winter Himalayan Meadow Trek

Dayara Bugyal Trek is one of the most beautiful winter trekking experiences in Uttarakhand, taking you through snow-covered alpine meadows, Himalayan forests and high-altitude mountain landscapes to the spectacular Dayara Top at 11,850 ft.

Located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, Dayara Bugyal is a vast alpine meadow surrounded by Himalayan peaks. The word “Bugyal” locally refers to a high-altitude meadow, and during winter, the green meadows transform into a beautiful landscape covered in snow.

The Dayara Bugyal Winter Trek 2027 takes place from 6–10 March 2027, starting from the mountain village of Raithal.

The trek combines relatively manageable trekking distances with rewarding Himalayan scenery, making it an excellent choice for travellers looking to experience a snow-covered Himalayan trek without an extremely long expedition.

What Makes Dayara Bugyal Special?

Dayara Bugyal is famous for its vast alpine meadows, winter snow and panoramic Himalayan views.

During the trek, you move through dense mountain forests before reaching the open meadows of Dayara. In winter, the landscape changes completely as snow covers the trail, campsites and surrounding slopes.

The high point of the trek is Dayara Top, at approximately 11,850 ft, where you can experience wide panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges.

On a clear day, you may see peaks including Bandarpoonch, Jaonli, Rudragaira, Srikanth and peaks of the Gangotri region.

But the real experience is the journey itself—walking through quiet Himalayan forests, entering vast snow-covered meadows and gradually climbing towards the panoramic viewpoint of Dayara Top.

Why Trek Dayara Bugyal With LetsGoForACamp?
Experienced Guides. No Compromise.

For us, a Himalayan trek isn't simply about taking people from one campsite to another.

The experience of the guide matters.

We don't compromise when it comes to the quality and experience of the trekking team. Our guides play an important role in managing the group, understanding the terrain, helping participants navigate changing conditions and making the overall trekking experience safer and better organised.

Small Group — Maximum 20 Participants

We keep our Dayara Bugyal group size limited to a maximum of 20 participants.

A smaller group means better communication, closer coordination and more attention to individual participants throughout the trek.

Preparation Starts Before The Trek

Winter trekking requires preparation.

Our support doesn't begin when you reach Raithal.

Before the trek, participants receive guidance about:

  • Fitness and workout preparation
  • Winter trekking conditions
  • High-altitude trekking
  • Clothing and layering
  • Trekking shoes and essential gear
  • Backpack preparation
  • What to carry
  • Hydration and nutrition
  • Altitude-related precautions
  • What to expect during a snow trek
Workout & Preparation Tracking

We encourage participants to start preparing before the trek rather than arriving at the base village unprepared.

Regular workout tracking and preparation updates help participants understand where they stand physically and what they need to improve before the Himalayan trek.

Regular Updates & Team Meetings

Participants receive regular updates before the trek and important information is communicated through the group.

We also conduct team meetings to explain the route, preparation, packing requirements and winter trekking expectations.

Detailed Winter Trek Packing Guidance

March in the Himalayas means cold temperatures and winter conditions.

The right clothing and equipment can make a significant difference.

We provide detailed guidance on winter layers, footwear, personal essentials and trekking equipment, so participants can prepare properly instead of guessing what they need.

Decathlon Winter Gear Support

Participants can also get special offers from Decathlon for winter trekking purchases, helping you prepare for the cold-weather conditions and get the right winter essentials.

Carry enough water for the way as there is only one water source near the top. With the first few steps under the forest, the trail gradually opens up leading to vast meadows. Hereafter, you will find yourself trudging on the meadows blossomed with colours. Walking on such beautiful terrain with stunning views of Bandarpoonch and other peaks, you won’t even know that you are finally closer to the top. You might also spot a sparsely filled water stream. The final climb is steep but it is worth the physical strain because you will end up witnessing stunning views of the Dodital range. By utilising this service, trekkers can walk more comfortably and enjoy the breathtaking scenery without the burden of heavy luggage. This not only helps reduce fatigue but also allows trekkers to remain more active and engaged with their surroundings, making for a more enjoyable and memorable trekking experience.
