Agumbe, often called the Cherrapunji of South India, is one of the most beautiful rainforest regions in Karnataka. Famous for its heavy monsoon rains, misty hills, and lush evergreen forests, Agumbe offers an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and explorers.
The charming village is also widely believed to be the inspiration for the fictional town “Malgudi” created by R. K. Narayan, which later became famous through the iconic Doordarshan TV series Malgudi Days.
During the monsoon, Agumbe transforms into a magical paradise. Waterfalls roar through dense forests, clouds descend into the valleys, and every trail becomes a journey through mist and greenery.
On this carefully curated journey by LetsGoForACamp, you will explore:
Ancient Jain temples and heritage sites
The breathtaking Sirimane Waterfalls
The scenic Kundadri Hills sunset viewpoint
The historic Kavaledurga Fort
The sacred Sringeri Sharada Peetham
Village walks and hidden rainforest landscapes
If you love monsoon travel, rainforests, waterfalls, culture, and offbeat destinations, this Agumbe experience will redefine how you see travel.

Following are the list of things that are recommended to be carried for this trip
Udupi is the nearest railway station to Agumbe , however , it is a small railway station and only a few trains have stops there. Compared to which Mangalore has two large railway station , viz. Mangalore Jn and Mangalore Central . All the trains passing through the routes have stops at Mangalore . Moreover , it is also last stop for many trains starting from Kerala , Karnataka and Tamilnadu.

Been here for the first time, I seriously recommend every one to opt for this . I have been here for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment. The best part with this camp is these people are not working for money i.e earning some profit, they are purely passionate about the travel and making the people satisfactory. The accommodation, bus arrangements , contacts with local guys over there are too good for the budget which we are paying.

This was one hell of a trip I must say . Special thanks to let's go for a camp and my fellow mates who came.for the trip. Mud football , team build up games ,trekking through dense forest , Leach attacks, riding on top of the van , singing songs etc created a sense of happiness in me .The food was also really good. We are looking forward for more trips with let's go for a camp.If u wanna get lost with ur mind peacefully ,then don't hesitate to join Let's go for a camp.

I had a awesome experience at let's go for a camp.I got to meet new friends and had many memories. Thanks to the team who had orgaanised it so well and gave full justice to the theme dance with the rain gods. After a long I played mud games and relived my childhood days.

I have gone for 2 camps with this team. Both of them were really good and the activities included in the camp for two days helps you get a picture of the whole place. The food provided by team is made in local houses which is really good as well. The enthusiasm of the management team is never dying and makes the camp really fun filled.

Its so amazing because it’s so different. Each and every thing the LETSGOFORATRIP do is only after lots of thoughts on how to make it an unforgettable experience for us. And indeed they are successful in giving such an awsome memories.
